Inhouse Seminar: Clear Communication for Stronger Teams

With several years of experience working directly with entrepreneurs, leadership teams and employees, I understand the challenges many teams face when it comes to communication. My background as a psychologist, former Navy officer and systemic conflict coach allows me to support teams in building clarity, trust and mutual respect in their everyday work.
In this seminar, participants learn how to recognize personal patterns, prevent misunderstandings, resolve emotional conflicts, and foster a communication culture based on clarity and appreciation.

How this seminar supports your organization

Strong teams rely on strong relationships – both professionally and personally.
Every team member comes with basic needs: the need to feel included, respected, appreciated and acknowledged.
When these needs are unmet or violated, the consequences are far-reaching:

Strained relationships

Team dynamics become tense. Trust erodes. Small issues escalate quickly.

Low motivation

Emotional strain leads to frustration, disconnection or burnout. Some withdraw, others disengage silently.

Stalled processes

Conflicts and misunderstandings interfere with the actual work. Productivity drops, focus shifts to survival.

s

Unspoken dynamics

Past experiences, unresolved tensions or invisible loyalties often shape how people show up at work. When these deeper layers remain unaddressed, real alignment becomes difficult.

What participants will take away

Recognize and respect core needs

Understand the emotional foundations of teamwork, including the need for inclusion, appreciation, fairness and clear roles

Understand the impact of unmet needs

Restore emotional balance

Discover how to identify and resolve emotional blocks and rebuild trust within the team

Communicate with clarity and respect

Develop a constructive communication culture that prevents misunderstandings and allows for honest, respectful feedback

Why surface-level changes don’t create lasting impact

When something doesn’t feel right, many people start by changing their surroundings or behavior. They avoid difficult colleagues, switch roles, or try to improve how they communicate. Sometimes, this helps for a while, but often the same issues return in a different form. That’s because the true cause of stress, conflict or frustration usually lies deeper.

We may try to build new skills or adopt new strategies. We tell ourselves to stay calm, think positive, or communicate more clearly. And yet, old patterns resurface, shaped by inner beliefs, values and identities that have formed over time. These patterns may say: “I’m not good enough,” “I must not show weakness,” or “No one ever really listens to me.”

Such convictions are not always visible, but they guide how we show up and how we relate to others. They can create emotional tension long before a conflict becomes visible. And they don’t change simply by thinking differently.

Beneath all of this lies a deeper layer: the system law level. This is where unresolved injuries from the past – from family, culture, or earlier experiences in organizations – continue to shape how people feel, react and belong. When these underlying injuries remain unaddressed, they affect everything else: how we behave, what we believe, how we relate, and whether we feel safe enough to lead or to be seen.

With the SystemEmpowering approach, we don’t stay on the surface. We help participants identify and resolve these deeper tensions in a way that restores balance, strengthens clarity and supports real, sustainable change.

Seminar Content: Clear Communication and Emotional Conflict Resolution in Teams

Core Needs in Teams

Learn to identify and understand the emotional needs, or System Laws, that form the foundation of trust and healthy collaboration. These include belonging, recognition, respect, fairness, and clarity in roles and responsibilities.

Understanding Conflict Dynamics

Explore how communication breaks down when these needs are violated and how unresolved tension impacts relationships, focus, and results within the team.

The Interpretation Loop

Recognize how personal experience, inner beliefs and “mental filters” shape communication. Learn how to step out of misinterpretation and assumptions to prevent misunderstandings.

Feedback Culture

Establish a constructive and respectful feedback process. Learn how to give and receive feedback in a way that strengthens trust and helps teams grow together.

Conflict Resolution Tools

Work with practical methods to identify and resolve emotional injuries and team tensions. Learn how to address root causes instead of compensating for symptoms.

Real-World Practice

Apply the SystemEmpowering approach to your actual team situations. Work on examples from your day-to-day experience and develop solutions that are both practical and sustainable.

Jan Schulz

I spent 13 years as a naval officer in the German Armed Forces where I learned to combine discipline and responsibility with effective leadership for both people and resources.

Today, I bring that experience into my work as a psychologist (M.Sc.) and as a SystemEmpowering Coach and Mediator at the Hanseatisches Institut. I support entrepreneurs and leaders in their personal and professional development.

I’ve experienced the ups and downs of personal growth firsthand. Both in business and in life, I’ve learned how important it is to find inner balance and to resolve conflict in a sustainable way. It’s not just about recognizing signals like doubt, fear, frustration, pain, anger or grief in yourself but also about being able to work through them with others and find real solutions.

My goal is not only to support growth but to create stability and fulfillment in everyday life for more inner strength and lasting clarity, both personally and professionally.
